The Hispanic / Latino Community in the Pittsburgh area has tremendously grown in the past couple of years.  This growth has increased the demand for activities catered to the Hispanic / Latino community. The many new comers to the area have different backgrounds and different motives for their relocation; however the one thing they have in common is the need for attraction and/or retention to the area.

Given that Pittsburgh did not have a Hispanic / Latino Media Source based out of Pittsburgh, LA RUMBA PRODUCTIONS was formally established in 2011 to help fill this void. The company’s purpose is to produce material for Radio as well as Television.

We have been very welcomed by the community and our audience continues to increase on a weekly basis. We have taken upon ourselves to reach out to all different organizations in the area to start to become that central source of information for everyone in the community. We work close with the PGH Metropolitan Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Local PBS station WQED, La Jornada Latina newspaper, Pittsburgh Community Television, Vibrant Pittsburgh, Latin American Cultural Union, Pittsburgh Pirates, and more. to ensure we cover all means of communications and combine our audience.

Important Milestones

-La Rumba Pittsburgh Radio Show established 2010.

-First Bilingual TV segments in PBS (WQED) Pittsburgh aired, Dec.  2011.
